My water bill seems too high, what could be the reason?

The two most common reasons are:

  1. The landscape irrigation system, due to a change in the duration and frequency of your watering or a problem with the system. Problems might be leaking valves, broken sprinkler heads, or broken pipes.
  2. A leaky toilet.

Please be aware that our personnel are NOT permitted to enter customer private property to repair leaks, check your water softener, or fix other water-related problems.  You must call a plumber to correct such items.

I had a high bill because of a water leak. Can I get an adjustment on my bill?

Unfortunately, Big Park Water Company cannot be responsible for the maintenance or operation of water pipes on private property. Therefore, the customer will be responsible for the bill.  If you are unable to pay the entire bill by the due date, please call our office, 928-284-2298, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM to make payment arrangements.

I am experiencing low water pressure. What is the cause?

The most common cause is a malfunctioning pressure regulator. The pressure regulator may need to be replaced. The pressure regulator is most likely located 18″ behind the meter box on the customer’s property.

Why do I have to pay $47.85 a month for a one inch meter?

We are following the rules imposed by the Sedona Fire District which state that homes which have fire sprinkler systems must install a one inch meter. The minimum monthly cost of a one inch meter is $47.85 as per the BPWC tariff as approved by the Arizona Corporation Commission.

Do we have sufficient water supplies?

Yes. In March 2009, The Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) granted both Big and Little Park’s applications for designation of having “Adequate Water Supplies.” Basically, this means that both companies have sufficient water supplies to last 100 years based on our companies’ pumping capacity, infrastructure, hydrologic data and forecast demand in the Village of Oak Creek (Big Park.)
